In the latest airline seating plans scary enough to give you nightmares, passengers could be travelling down with their bags in the cargo hold.
Designed with the aim of fitting more passengers on a plane, the proposal sees a section of an aeroplane’s cargo hold turned into a windowless cabin for economy class passengers.
Revealed as part of a patent application by Zodiac Aerospace the “Lower Deck Cabin Experience” would be suitable for larger aircraft such as Boeing 777 and 787 Dreamliner as well as the Airbus A350.
While the two lower deck cabins would not have windows, the design features screens along the length of the cabin which show what’s happening outside the plane.
With similarities to the windowless plane proposal submitted by the Centre for Process Innovation late last year, this class of seating would certainly not be for the claustrophobic or those with a fear of flying.
