KFC Australia recently rolled out a mouthwatering menu addition that’s causing quite the stir among the chicken-loving crowd. The new item is already receiving mostly positive feedback for its bold flavours and unique twist on a classic. But what exactly is it?
After a successful trial run in select stores last year, the fast-food giant has introduced an item that boasts a delectable fusion of Mexican flavours and the Colonel’s secret spices.
KFC started offering the Zinger Nachos in 25 February to its menus nationwide, and it’s already receiving mostly favourable comments from fast food lovers.
This limited-time offering combines crunchy corn chips with a spicy Zinger fillet, topped with guacamole, fresh tomato salsa, and a rich nacho cheese sauce. It’s a flavour fiesta that promises to deliver a kick with every bite.
But hurry, because this culinary delight is only available until 24 March. You can enjoy the Zinger Nachos as a standalone treat or as part of a combo meal, complete with chips and a drink to quench your thirst.
Meanwhile, for those who prefer their meals wrapped up, the Nacho Twister is also joining the party, offering another way to savour this Mexican sensation.
Sally Spriggs, KFC Australia’s group marketing director, expressed her excitement about the launch: ‘We always get excited about bringing [Australians] new and innovative flavour combinations, which is why we’re thrilled to bring our customers the Zinger Nachos across the country for the first time.’
‘The perfect pairing of our iconic Zinger fillet with fresh Mexican ingredients, we’re certain it will hit the spot for KFC fans.’
Those who have already tried the Zinger Nachos are leaving comments on KFC Australia’s social media post.
‘Guys, [they’re] actually yummy,’ wrote one person, while someone else commented, ‘It’s [really] fire, guys.’
‘Please make the nacho range permanent,’ requested a third commenter.
However, some expressed their disappointment, saying, ‘Just got this. I legit got 5 nacho chips and half the box was empty.’
Another one echoed, ‘[I] received a box of broken corn chips and a bit of sauce and chicken.’

This isn’t the first time KFC has dabbled with corn chips on its menu. Last year, the Zinger Crunch made an appearance, and even before that, a version of Zinger Nachos was trialled.
Popular food content creator Russ Eats had a chance to sample the dish during its limited release in Newcastle, rating it a solid ‘seven out of ten.’ He praised the combination of guacamole and tomato with the KFC chicken, calling it ‘a match made in heaven.’
A KFC spokesperson confirmed the return of corn chips to the menu, highlighting the brand’s commitment to innovation: ‘What’s not to love about corn chips? Their satisfying crunch, their moreish flavour, their perfect harmony with Zinger fillets, salsa, nacho cheese, and guac.’
‘[Australians] know we never miss an opportunity to experiment with our iconic KFC flavours to keep up with fans’ changing tastes and preferences, so we knew there was no better time to unleash our Zinger Nachos unto the world.’
