ALDI shoppers puzzled over store buy: ‘Has anyone noticed this?’

We all love the thrill of going through the grocery aisles of ALDI for the best deals and unique finds you never knew you needed.

However, a recent discovery by some ALDI customers on a popular store item has left a sour taste in their mouths… and maybe off their grocery lists forever.

An ALDI shopper’s social media post pointed out the declining quality of ALDI’s coconut milk.

‘Has anyone noticed this with the coconut milk? I’ve been buying it for years but lately it has been like this. It doesn’t even smell like coconut…’ the shopper said.

‘Second picture is a Woolies coconut milk for comparison. Yes, they have all been shaken’

The post has since garnered the attention of over a hundred individuals with the same experience.

The difference was stark: the ALDI coconut milk appeared oily and curdled, far from the creamy consistency one would expect from regular coconut milk.

‘I wouldn’t use it as it doesn’t look like coconut milk to me,’ one commenter expressed, echoing the sentiments of many others who found the product’s appearance unappetising.

One said it ‘doesn’t look good’ while another commented that it ‘looks like it’s turned into coconut oil.’

Others encouraged the shopper to return them to the store and get compensation.

‘Yuck it looks out of date. I would take them back in a box and show them the picture. Also email head office that is not good enough,’ one said.

‘Maybe take them back. Personally, I wouldn’t use them.. they look like they have spoiled,” a third agreed.

What’s more troubling is close to a hundred commenters shared similar experiences.

‘Yep! Had a couple recently that looked like grey water, so gross,’ one person shared

‘I used one last night gave it a really good shake before opening and it was super watery and oily looking also,’ another agreed.

‘You’re not alone, happened to me too this week. It’s like an oil. Bought a can and didn’t bother going back,’ said a third.

One shopper shared, ‘Yes! I opened a second can thinking something was wrong and the second was the same. Never buying it again back to buying it from Woolies or Coles.’

Another was relieved saying, ‘Thank goodness!!! I thought it was just me!!! For a couple of months, I have had the same experience.’

‘Yes!!!! Glad I’m not the only one noticing – horrible to use,’ another commenter said.
