ParticipantEven higher supermarket prices could be on the way for Australians as a trucking company that supplies all major supermarkets has collapsed, sending freight prices skyrocketing.
Sydney-based Scott’s Refrigerated Logistics went into voluntary administration on Monday. The business was a key logistics partner for Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, IGA and Foodbank Australia.
Administrators KordaMentha are hopeful there will be some way to keep the business afloat.
“Supermarket supplies won’t be affected at this stage. It is business as usual,” said KordaMentha’s Scott Langdon.
“We’re meeting with some of the biggest Australian food suppliers, it’s a great opportunity for them to work together to see if we can keep this business afloat.”
It’s hoped a suitable buyer can be found for the company.

ParticipantWell the companies they supplied, Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, IGA, should pitch in and buy it. They’re all good at buying out businesses and/or making profits. Foodbank Australia although a not-for-profit have a very sizeable bank balance with government handouts and donations, and other income streams I’m sure. Time the government bought back price control, then listen to the big 4 piggys scream.
