Big7 Travel has announced its listing for the world’s best beaches and White Beach in the Philippines has been named number one.

Australia’s best ranking is Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsunday Islands at No. 5, with Big7 calling its white silica sand beach one of the ‘purest in the world’.

Other Australian rankings are Hyams Beach, NSW, in 10th position, Turquoise Bay, WA, 16th.

My favourite beach is usually the one I’m sitting on at any given time.

Etty Bay FNQ is our local beach and one of the most picturesque. Unspoilt by over development and one of the few places where visitors mingle with cassowaries.
