ParticipantFood Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has issued a recall for Smithy’s Dry Lager (330ml bottles) because the bottles contain too much alcohol. What a problem to have!
The full-strength beer is sold at Liquorland, Coles Online and First Choice Liquor Market and is labelled as being 4.3 per cent alcohol, but it has been discovered the bottles contain a much higher percentage (although they’re not saying how high).
This recall only applies to beers with a best-before date of 25 January 2024.
“Food products containing excess alcohol may cause illness or injury if consumed,” FSANZ says.
“Consumers should not drink this product. Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”
Consumers should return the affected product to the store for a full refund.
