      Is enough being done to protect you from online scams on digital platforms such as Google and Meta?

      CHOICE research shows a staggering 66% of survey respondents are non-plussed with the measures currently taken by these platforms.

      Around 79% of participants fear that their ‘loved ones’ may not be equipped to identify and avoid online scams.

      Alan Kirkland, CEO of CHOICE, isn’t surprised, and highlighted several advertisements on Google, Facebook, and Instagram promoting retailers such as H&M, Gorman, Lorna Jane, Country Road, Peter Alexander, Seed Heritage and Decjuba that were scam ads.

      “These digital decoy setups make it incredibly hard for consumers to discern”, said Mr Kirkland.
