ParticipantThere are a number of reasons people’s hair goes gray a little earlier than normal including genetics, stress and just plain bad luck.
Generally speaking, it’s nothing to worry about and just a normal part of ageing.
But doctors are warning that hair turning gray can sometimes be an indicator of a much more serious health concern.
Turning gray, especially before middle age, can be a sign of a condition called tuberous sclerosis, where benign tumours can grow on the brain, spine, eyes, lungs, heart and kidney.
Although the tumours themselves are benign, they can cause serious secondary harm by pushing on your eyes, lungs, brains, etc.
So, if you’ve recently noticed grays where there weren’t any before, it might be time to see your GP.
