If you’re trying to shed a few kilos, you’ve probably been told to avoid potatoes and other carb-heavy foods. But you may have been doing yourself a disservice.

Researchers have found that filling your stomach with potatoes can actually be beneficial for your weight.

When people eat, they tend to eat the same weight of food in order to feel ‘full’, regardless of how many calories the food has.

Potatoes contain an average of 80 calories each – which is far less than other foods such as bread, pasta and rice when eaten in the same quantities.

So, loading up on potatoes will make you feel fuller on less calories, which in turn, should see your weight start dropping.

How often do you eat potatoes?
