Another round of rain and flooding has hit Australia and all over the country dangerous mould is beginning to sprout in homes.

It might be tempting to hit it with some bleach, but the harsh chemicals are not actually the best for cleaning mould and can be hazardous to your health.

Better Homes and Gardens reports there are safer and more effective natural remedies to get rid of mould.

Tea tree oil or clove oil and water

Add 15 drops of your chosen oil into a spray bottle. Spray onto mouldy areas and leave for two hours, spray a bit more, wipe away.

      White vinegar

This is probably the next best thing to the tea tree oil method. No preparation, just straight white vinegar. Just pop some into a spray bottle undiluted, spray, leave for an hour and then wipe off.

      Vodka

This one may surprise you but vodka can be a very effective cleaning solution. The cheaper the vodka is, the better. Again, put some undiluted vodka into a spray bottle, spray, leave for an hour and the mould should come straight off.

Do you use any other methods to clean mould?
