It used to be the older you get, the more conservatively you voted, but if new studies are right the Liberal/National parties are going to be out of office for a long time.

A report by the right-leaning Centre for Independent Studies found that while baby boomers and Gen X were more likely to shift their vote for a conservative party, the rest of the voting-age population are proving more reluctant.

Millennials are only shifting their vote to the LNP at a rate of 0.6 per cent each election and Gen Z’s support of the LNP is falling, rather than increasing which means they will be the least likely of any post-war generation to support the Coalition.

The reported warned that if the trend continues, the Coalition could lose another 35 seats by 2040 and be out of power for years, if not decades.
