More instant millionaires were created in NSW than any other region of Australia, with the state racking up 122 wins worth more than $450 million, the Lott reports.
Victoria followed closely behind with 114 division one wins worth $376 million, followed by Queensland with 96 wins worth $163 million.
The data, taken within a 12-month period until 30 November by The Lott and Lotterywest, covers all games including Powerball, Oz Lotto, Tattslotto, Set for Life and Lotto.

South Australia: 31 winners – total $67,436,147

Northern Territory: 4 winners – total $3,314,745
The figures come ahead of Tuesday’s $50 million OZ Lotto draw, the biggest jackpot on offer in more than a year.
In Victoria, the postcodes 3000, 3754 and 3047 each sold three division one winning entries, totalling $22.5 million.
In NSW and the ACT, the postcode 2530 sold four division one entries, totalling $5.5 million.
In Queensland, the postcode 4211 sold three division one winning entries, totalling $2.5 million.
In South Australia, the postcode 5095 sold two division one winning entries.
The Lott spokesman Matt Hart said: “Some players tell us they deliberately pick outlets that have recently sold a major lottery prize in the hope of continuing the winning streak, while other players choose different outlets, believing lightning won’t strike twice.
“While we saw pockets of major lottery prizes across Australian states and territories this year, it’s important to remember that a division one win can land anywhere at any time.”
