Male body diversity: Do we need to see more of it?

Female body positivity has been a hot topic over the last few years. We’re seeing more realistic female bodies bandied about billboards and TV ads, but what about realistic male bodies?
A recent Planet Fitness survey revealed seven out of ten women think a ‘dad bod’ is attractive. They also said it’s an indicator of confidence and happiness.
But underwear brands persist on presenting Beckham-esque bods modelling tighty whities. Where are all the realistic male bodies (like mine )?
It seems brands such as Bonds and Myer have heard the call and are now embracing male body diversity.
B&T reported how department store Myer was slammed after featuring body-inclusive female models but neglecting to include more diverse male models.
The public attitude was reflected in this Twitter post:
Whether it was in response to the backlash or not, Myer now features a wider range of male models.
Bonds, which already has a non-binary underwear range, is also using a wider range of male models.
What do you think? Should there be more female and male body diversity? Or are you happy with more ‘aspirational’ body types?
