The famous golden arches may be convenient and (relatively) cheap, but their food has never been known for its nutritional value.

But some items on the Maccas menu are better for you than others. Nutritionist Susie Burrell has listed the items she usually opts to get if she goes to McDonald’s, and there’s a common theme.

      1. Chicken McBites

Like much smaller chicken nuggets, the McBites have around 200 calories per 10 bites and around 11g of fat.

      2. Wholemeal Grilled Chicken Snap Wrap

It’s important here to remember to order the grilled chicken wrap and not the fried version. Add in the wholemeal wrap, and this item also has around 200 calories per serve and just nine grams of fat.

      3. McChicken

If you’re set on having a burger, Ms Burrell says the McChicken is the healthiest option. A McChicken has around 450 calories, 22g of fat and about 600mg of sodium.

When was the last time you ate at McDonald’s?
