The Andrew government in Victoria has confirmed the Queen’s Birthday public holiday will now be known as the King’s Birthday holiday in honour of King Charles III.

Crucially, it will remain on the same day – the second Monday in June.

The confirmation comes after the Victorian government proclaimed King Charles III as Australia’s new head of state in a special ceremony.
