ParticipantMore than 2 million Aussie workers are set to get a pay rise after the Fair Work Commission (FWC) announced it would be lifting the minimum wage and award wages by 3.75 per cent from 1 July.
It will see the national minimum wage rise by around $33 per week to $915.91 per week, or $24.10 per hour. Combined with increases to award wages, the FWC says the changes will affect around a quarter of all Australian workers.
“The increase of 3.75 per cent which we have determined is broadly in line with forecast wages growth across the economy in 2024 and will make only a modest contribution to the total amount of wages growth in 2024,” the commission says.
Do you think a 3.75 per cent increase is enough? Is it is as much as we can do without angering the inflation gods further?
