ParticipantQantas has emailed former employees asking them to come back and work for the company.
My advice would be that unless there is a considerable pay increase, send that email straight to the trash file.
Qantas has consistently shown its complete disregard for its staff, firing them on a whim even before the pandemic, hiring them through labour contractors and doing everything it can to cut staff entitlements and pay. Why would anyone return?
Qantas sacked enough people to populate a small country town – estimates hover around 8500 – while also collecting an about $2.35 billion in Jobseeker and financial support during the pandemic.
And you could be sure those people who were put on would also be the first to be sacked again if the economy tanks.
Would you return to work for Qantas? Have you ever returned to work for an old employer?

ParticipantNo. We have long memories.
A new CEO would be a massive improvement. He has no respect.
