Former Qantas boss Alan Joyce’s final payout from Qantas has been reduced by almost $10 million.

According to the ABC, Qantas confirmed Mr Joyce’s pay would be slashed after the airline lost its High Court battle over the illegal sacking of ground staff in 2020 and a recent settlement with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission over flight cancellations.

In that last case, Qantas agreed to pay $20 million in customer refunds and $100 million in fines.

It’s estimated Alan Joyce was paid $125 million over his tenure with Qantas which included $23.6 million in his final year with the company.

That’s pretty good pay for what almost everyone can agree was a career that trashed an iconic worldwide brand.

Now all the speculation is will he sue for the money? Quite probably. Qantas have no interest in yet another legal battle and Mr Joyce seems like the type to drag it out.

Do you think he will sue?

The board has educed his pay, which might make some of the Joyce hater realise that all along it has been the board that approved hi pay increases. Joyce didn’t award them to himself. SO blame the board, not Joyce!!!!! OK?
