ParticipantI write stories, classical poetry and children’s poetry and would like the forum to help me understand whether people regularly read to children. How many read stories? How many read poetry? There are many studies that show that young children who are read to regularly improve their overall comprehension, reasoning powers, vocabulary and confidence, all of which are powerful contributors to success in life. If you’d like a free preview of my recent book “A Child’s Garden of Curses” Google the title, author: Jan Darling. Many stockists like Amazon offer up to ten pages free. I chose 13 of Grimms’ most popular tales to tell in narrative verse because children love to hear and read stories they recognise.
