An urgent recall has been issued for Toyota Kluger models manufactured between March 2021 and August 2023. The issue is with a lower bumper cover they may come loose when driving.

“The involved vehicles are equipped with a resin front lower bumper cover assembly, connected with mounting tabs,” a statement from the company reads.

“If there is minor impact to the lower front bumper cover assembly that causes the mounting tabs to detach from the vehicle during normal operation, one or more parts of this assembly could detach, which could become a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash or injury for other road users.”

Toyota says the recall will affect almost 30,000 Klugers across Australia. Anybody who owns a Toyota Kluger manufactured during this period is encouraged to contact their local Toyota dealership to organise a free inspection and replacement of the part.
