Aldi has issued a recall for an ice-cream maker it sells over concerns a serious defect could cause illness in users.

The Ambiano ice-cream maker’s freezer bowl contains a clear-coloured liquid coolant used in the freezing process. If the bowl is pierced this coolant could leak into the bowl, potentially contaminating the ice-cream.

Aldi says there is a risk of serious illness if the coolant is consumed. Anyone who has bought this ice-cream maker is advised to stop using it immediately and return the item to their nearest Aldi store for a full refund.
