How much would you be willing to spend on a toaster?
In a case of people having far more dollars than sense, the internet is up in arms over the new Smeg Dolce & Gabbana Blu Mediterraneo two-slice toaster, which is retailing for a cool $900. Yes, that’s right, nine hundred dollars for a toaster. And only two slices!
According to manufacturer Smeg, the unit is more than just a kitchen appliance, but “a true piece of art”. Admittedly, it does have an interesting designs, if that’s your kind of thing. But $900?
It would want to be a damn good toaster for that sort of coin. What’s the most you’ve spent on an appliance, and was it worth it?
