A tourist visiting the Household Cavalry Museum in London – home of the changing of the guard ceremony – has learned the hard way that you really do need to pay attention.
The site is a popular tourist attraction due to the uniformed guards stationed on horseback outside the grounds in full military dress uniforms. Getting a photo with the horses and their riders is popular with visitors, but its well known you shouldn’t get too close to them.
Despite signs posted everywhere – plus common sense – telling tourists not to approach the horses, a video has gone viral on social media of the moment a woman got far too close to one of the animals, who then bit the woman so hard she fainted.
The video shows the woman later sitting conscious against railings, her wounds being treated by passersby.
The incident is just the latest in a long line of tourists getting too close to ceremonial guards on horseback – a problem that has been going on literally for decades.
It’s not like people aren’t aware of the strict rules surrounding the guards, so why do people think they can flaunt them just for a picture? It boggles the mind.
Yes, they are usually the Self Entitled ones who always have to be the First onto the Tourist Bus, the First off that Bus, the First to enter the Tourist Destination etc etc etc, and will not take NO for an answer !!!!
