Saving money by making your own coffee? Then you need to know which coffee machines offer the best value. Canstar Blue has done the hard yards by finding out what Aussies recommend.
1. De’Longhi Dinamica Automatic Coffee Machine
De’Longhi was rated five stars across all categories: ease of use, features and functionality, value for money, performance, ease of cleaning, design and overall satisfaction.
Canstar says: The manual espresso coffee machine range offers a number of different colours and styles, from sleek modern designs to retro throwbacks.
2. Sunbeam Torino Espresso Machine and Grinder
Canstar says: All machines within the Sunbeam range deliver café-style espresso and velvety steamed milk, but as you travel up in price, the machines allow greater temperature regulation, grind control and feedback via pressure and temperature gauges.
3. Breville, the Barista Express
Breville was rated four stars across all categories.
Canstar says: The Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine claims to brew a cup of coffee from ‘bean to espresso’ within a minute. Aside from the built-in grinder, the unit also lets you pick between 16 grind settings and whether you want a single or double shot of espresso.
4. Kmart Espresso-machine-300×300
Kmart was rated four stars across all categories.
Canstar says: Offering arguably the cheapest line-up of coffee machines. Its Espresso machine features single and double shot options, milk steamer, detachable water tank and warming plate to pre-heat your cup. Kmart also offers a touchscreen espresso machine, with pre-programmable settings.

Do you have a coffee machine? What do you recommend?
I have owned bean-to-cup machines from most of the recognised brands but none compare with my Kalerm which I have enjoyed for eight years.
