Woolworths has issued a plea to customers over its supply of bananas over the coming weeks.

The supermarket giant says bananas sourced from farms in Queensland may have dark blemishes on the skin resulting from storms and floods affecting the state.

Woolies is urging shoppers to keep buying bananas, despite their appearance, saying that underneath the skin they are the same quality as unblemished bananas.

Queensland bananas make up around 90 per cent of Woolworths’ banana supply in total.
