I was brought up on tinned beetroot and it is still a staple in my pantry. Whether it is used with a salad, on a homemade burger, or in the case of baby beets, a quick snack. In this season of hot weather and more salads, yes it will be missed.
I voted for the magpie this year, this time the butcher bird, both birds sing wonderful songs.
PS: As a bonus as the egg shells break down they nourish the soil.
