The big companies registered in O/S tax avoidance schemes that should pay their fair share of tax. Leave the little ones trying to make ends meet alone.

He should pay for the visit himself. He decided to have a holiday in Australia, not us. If he is our boss, then he should help with our housing problem. Selling a castle or two would help build quite a few houses here. That would be a thank you to Australia for supporting him and England.

The Yanks are influencing Aussies too much I believe. Halloween has nothing to do with Australia.

Lock all the idiots up for a couple of years. That might change their minds about being so destructive while protesting.

The Cavoodle is a mixed breed of dog, and I don’t like any mixed breed of dog. These were bred just to make money in the beginning and now some people buy them as they can be kept in a unit or house. I prefer a large dog, one that can be trained and walk with me and looks like a DOG, not a toy.

Yes, until the government declares cash no longer legal tender then it should be available and accepted by all people and companies. The banks NUST provide cash to those who wish to use it and they must not decide whether cash is available or not. It is up to the government, not the banks.

I think all pollies should retire at the same age as everyone else. Max aged 65-70.

I think the Governor General should be funded by the British government as She represents the King. Strang how the government can give themselves a pay rise when the rest of the country is in a poverty situation.

These companies should be stopped from using overseas places to avoid paying taxes. ALL money earned in Australia should stay in Australia and be taxed, end of story.

No government does enough to support veterans and will never do. I am one of those veterans who has been given the flick. Just because I smoked as most men did back in the 1970’s and because of that I was given the flick with my heart problems.

in reply to: Could this be the answer for ADF recruitment? #1835137

Yes, Compulsory Nation Service for both men and women would help not only the ADF but it would get training for those without requirements needed for a job application. A couple of years in the ADF would also give people some confidence in themselves and the ability to look for work.

These people need to look after the employees, not their hip pockets. How can they justify their obscene salaries and then jump up and down because their workers get a pittance of a pay rise? It is the same with politicians, they don’t say no to their huge pay rises each year or two.

Yes, I believe they should. Any naughty young ones should be made to enlist for a couple of years as a punishment for their misbehaviour. This might deter people from committing crimes due to them being bored and unemployed. Persons 17 years old or above who have committed a crime should have to join the ADF for a limited number of years as their punishment.

That is how things were back in the 1940s, 50s and 60s in most of the world. He needs to be told it is now the 2000s, not the 1900s.

They should be banned completely. The stores should be shut down.

Dog breeds should have no crossbreds in them. A dog breed should be standard between males and females who have been mated. Any cross means the offspring are NOT purebred and some that have been crossbred will never look like a pedigree animal.

I would take the dogs off these dog owners. Unless a dog (and owner) has been trained no dog should be off lead except in the backyard. Even when trained some dogs while off lead, tend to do the wrong thing while away from their handler and other animals are around. If off-lead at a beach or open ground, all dogs should be within their owner’s sight and voice command.
