It’s not the little backyarders that are a problem like handypersons or flea markets, car boot sales etc. Paying by cash or receiving by cash should & will continue, at least in the short term. It’s the bigger business operations that need “dobbing in”.

Australia has changed its anthem from “God Save the King”. Why not next change the flag to exclude the “Union Jack” next ? Then proceed to become a Republic. We should then still be part of the Commonwealth with just minimal changes.

Bunnings does not & never will “specialize” by product group like specialists SuperCheap Auto & AutoBarn. You cannot find any staff member at Bunnings to assist or give advice when required by a customer. The specialist auto companies will continue to provide this service & expand their businesses like other specialists in plumbing, electrical, tools & gardening etc. If I need advice I don’t go to Bunnings. I go to a specialist company.

Whilst I consider the one-off payment of $17K is good, it’s simply not good enough & should be $50K for a one-year assistance for house buying, I think a further incentive of up to $100K for 2 years is much better. I also believe that compulsory National Service should be reintroduced for all eligible unemployed & capable persons, especially for those who “claim” they are looking for work but cannot find it.

I’m 79 years young. Several years ago I changed from full-strength beer to mid-strength. Then a few years ago I further changed to light beer. I then further reduced my intake, so I purchased 330ml cans instead of 375ml or bigger cans. Then I decided to reduce my intake from 6 cans per day to 5 & then further to 4 & 3. I found that I improved my general health, fitness & exercise & I lost weight as well. My wife does not drink alcohol. I found our relationship improved during my planned reduction of alcohol. My plan took a while, but I can thoroughly recommend it. It’s a simple & cost-effective plan as well. Cheers.

No. Because it didn’t make sense to me. Why withdraw cash, then later buy something with that cash & then that money is re-banked by the store or receiver in their bank ? The only good thing about the exercise was that it was a show by activists against a cashless society.

If it is to be a person then that person must not be currently alive.

It would be interesting to see a graph showing the declining rate of ordinary letters delivered over the last 10 or more years, as well as the number of P.O. boxes in use.
