When pets squeeze into small spaces

While many of you may have a hard time fitting into last year’s jeans, these nimble cats and dogs somehow manage to fit their entire bodies into almost any space, from cardboard boxes to vases and old boots.

This adorable video compilation reveals the playful, hilarious and sometimes ridiculous habit of cats and dogs as they squeeze themselves into weird and wacky places. The title aptly labels the behaviour: If I fits, I sits.

According to some animal enthusiasts, the reason cats and dogs like to squish themselves into small spaces is because of their instinct to hide – the compact walls of a box or flower pot in contact with their body provides a feeling of safety and protection from predators.

If you have a dog or a cat, we’d love to hear the strangest place you’ve caught it trying to squeeze into.
