Australia’s waistline is bulging

Very few people would claim to be happy with their weight and while most of us wouldn‘t consider ourselves obese, a new report suggests that almost half of the Australian population does indeed fall into this category.

A report by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) has found that 63.4 per cent of adults in Australia are classified as obese – with a BMI over 30.

Country South Australia has the highest population of obese adults, with 73 per cent base don 2013-14 figures collected by the AIHW.
