The Country Doctor tells the tale of Jean-Pierre (Francois Cluzet), a much-loved local doctor who becomes sick and realises he will need to find someone to take over his practice. Young city doctor Nathalie (Marianne Denicourt) comes to town and has to adapt to a new life to try and take over from a man the locals think is irreplaceable.
The film was a huge success in France and is now winning audiences over in Australia with its generosity of spirit and gentle humour.
