Home Fires follows a group of inspirational women in rural Cheshire, England, as they cope with the chaos and unrest of World War II as the Battle of Britain rages overhead.
Set in 1940, this touching drama tells the incredible stories of the members of the Great Paxford Women’s Institute – inspirational women who had to deal with the very real threat of German invasion, whilst also learning to cope with the emotional and physical aspects of living without their husbands during a time of crisis.
