The Percy Grainger Piano Works 5CD collection showcases the work of one of the musical geniuses of the 20th century, as brought to life by pianist Leslie Howard. The collection includes many world-premiere recordings, fully restored and issued on CD for the first time.
Elegy also features a world-premiere recording – Australian composer FS Kelly’s Elegy, which was sketched behind the lines at Gallipoli in 1915. The CD also includes many other moving pieces of music from this period.
The Guy Noble Radio Show features musical entertainer Guy Noble at his comic best – saying things he can’t usually say whilst spinning discs on ABC FM. And Wings of a Dove is an album of calm music, which will send you to a place of serenity. Hear Bach’s St Matthew Passion as it was originally heard when it was first played in 1727, and Elena Kats-Chernin and Calvin Bowman recreate the music of JS Bach and Mozart in Reinventions.
