Frozen fish freak out ice skaters

An ice rink at a Japanese theme park has been forced to close after a social media backlash at the 5000 sea creatures frozen into its surface.

Freezing Port at Japan’s Space World theme park had fish, crabs and other shellfish embedded into the ice and although it was popular with visitors, social media lambasted the idea.



Space World manager, Toshimi Takeda told CNN that the fish, purchased from a local fish market and dead before being frozen, would be removed and a religious ceremony held before they were reused as fertilizer.
