Ginger key to anti-nausea chemotherapy

Ginger has long been used to settle upset stomachs and ease travel sickness and it now seems that this humble root has a truly remarkable positive effect.

Australian researchers have found that cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy had their nausea reduced when they took a ginger supplement. Patients also reported feeling less fatigued.

As the trial was only carried out amongst 51 cancer patients, lead researcher and dietician Dr Wolfgang Marx said it was early stages and more studies would be needed.
