Law student rejects MPs apology

The Queensland law student at the centre of “racist smear” remarks made by frontbench Labor MP Terri Butler on Q&A, has vowed to press ahead with his $150,000 defamation suit.

Calum Thwaites, 25, claims that by repeating on national television allegations made during a case brought against him under section 18c of the Racial Discrimination Act amounted to him being branded a racist, bigot and perjurer. the Queensland University of technology student rejected an apology made by Ms Butler.
