Pete Townshend turns 70

British rock star and guitarist for The Who, Pete Townshend, turns 70 today. Pete’s fate as a musician was sealed when his grandmother bought him his first guitar in 1956.

He is an accomplished musician, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. In 1990 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Who remains one of the most influential bands of the 1960s and 1970s.

Why not watch his beautiful solo acoustic rendition of Won’t Get Fooled Again from 2012?
