The end of traditional weddings?

With weddings having the potential to cost upwards of $30,000, it’s hardly surprising that more couples are turning their backs on all the traditional trappings. Destination weddings accounted for 31 per cent of nuptials between 2011 and 2016, although this is a drop from the 44 per cent who did the same thing between 2001 and 2010.

Instead, couples are opting to stay closer to home so guests who can’t afford to travel can attend, but the affairs are much more stripped down, with many keeping their budgets to under $10,000.

If you’ve got a big day coming up in your family, why not check out these cost-saving tips?
