Best place to watch the sun set

One of the joys of camping is being able to sit back with a glass of wine and watch the world’s greatest light show every single night of the week (well, at least on those nights of the week that the weather gods play nice!).

The most famous place to watch the sun sink into the sea is probably Broome, but I like my sunsets without the crowds, so my pick is Arnhem Land, where you don’t have to share the view.

My partner Bill snapped this photo of me staring into purple-coloured space from our camp at Rainbow Cliffs, near Nhulunbuy.
