Qantas carry-on rule changes

Qantas is improving its carry-on allowances for premium-class passengers on its international services, on the back of changes made to carry-on allowances for passengers on domestic services in March.

However, it only applies to passengers flying in first class, business class or premium economy.

Premium passengers can now bring one bag weighing up to 10kg measuring up to 115cm, or two bags with a combined weight of 14kg measuring up to 105cm each. Or, passengers can take one bag with maximum weight of 10 kg at 105cm and one 185cm soft garment bag. International economy carry-on allowances will remain at two bags weighing a maximum of 7kg each.

Passengers will still need to be able to lift and remove their own luggage from the overhead bins. Qantas says the crew will often help you with this, but there is no obligation on their part to do so.

The new limits will be welcome news for passengers who only like to travel with carry-on baggage.
