Your kids could pay for your trip

Parents wishing to take a break on holiday would prefer that their own parents join them and take on child-minding duties – and they’re prepared to pay for them, too.

Yep, a new survey of 1076 Australian parents commissioned by HotelsCombined.com.au  revealed that mums and dads would pay for their parents to come along on holiday and help  look after the kids.

Almost 60 per cent of parents with kids under four-years-old and 44 per cent of all parents said they would like the grandparents to come along as nannies.

Almost half of them said they would pay for it, with 16 per cent saying they would help cover expenses, 15 per cent paying for the entire trip, 14 per cent would cover food and entertainment, and 13 per cent would fork out for flights and accommodation.

Interestingly, 44 per cent of mums and dads require babysitting assistance at home, and almost nine in 10 of these same parents don’t pay the grandparents to look after their kids.

Luckily, babysitting helps grandparents live longer.
