Apple fritters are an easy and quick way to enjoy the flavours of an apple pie, and our Crispy Apple Fritters are no exception – especially when enjoyed with a dusting of cinnamon.

Serves: Four

Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 apples, peeled, cored and cut into 5mm rings
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • icing sugar for dusting
  • cinnamon for dusting


Method

In a bowl, mixthe eggs, sugar, flour and salt. Heat enough oil (about 1.5cm depth)in a frying pan. Dip the apple pieces into the batter and fry them in the hot oil.

Drain the apples on paper towel and serve with a dusting of icing sugar and cinnamon – and a scoop of vanilla ice-cream if you’re feeling indulgent.
