Think it’s all over now … bar the misery of the Afghan people now totally at the mercy (or lack of it) of the Taliban.

The withdrawal of Western troops has been flagged for many months now which really makes me wonder why everything regarding evacuations seems to have been left to the very last minute by both …
    • those wanting to leave the country
    • western governments promising evacuations

    Seems ridiculous.

I love Hugh Jackman too … as you say PlanB … seems like such a nice bloke.

    A little more background …

Jackman was born in Sydney, to Grace McNeil (née Greenwood) and Christopher John Jackman, a Cambridge-educated accountant. His parents were English and had come to Australia in 1967 as part of the “Ten Pound Poms” immigration scheme. His parents were devout Christians, having been converted by Evangelist Billy Graham after their marriage.

Jackman has four older siblings and was the second of his parents’ children to be born in Australia. He also has a younger half-sister, from his mother’s remarriage. His parents divorced when he was eight, and Jackman remained in Australia with his father and two brothers, while his mother moved back to England with Jackman’s two sisters.

A retired couple, Barb and Bob, moved to Tamworth.

Bob had always wanted a pair of R.M. WILLIAMS boots, so, seeing some on sale, he bought them and wore them home.

Walking proudly, he sauntered into the kitchen and said to his wife, ‘Notice anything different about me?’

Barb looked him over. ‘No Darl.’

Frustrated, Bob stormed off into the bathroom, undressed and walked back into the kitchen, completely naked except for his new R.M. Williams boots.

Again he asked Barb, a little louder this time, ‘Notice anything different NOW?’

Barb looked up and exclaimed, ‘Bob, what’s different? It’s hanging down today, it was hanging down yesterday, it’ll be hanging down again tomorrow, ’cause its always that way’.

Furious, Bob yelled, ‘AND DO YOU KNOW WHY IT’S HANGING DOWN, Barb ? DO YOU?’…..’No Darl’, she replied.

‘IT’S HANGING DOWN, BECAUSE IT’S LOOKING AT ME NEW R.M. WILLIAMS BOOTS!!!!’

Without changing her expression, Barb replied, ‘Shoulda bought a hat, Bob. Shoulda bought a hat’ !!!!
